Menopause-My hair is dry

When you are experiencing the changes of menopause it has a great effect on everything about you. Even your hair. Do you remember when your hair would hold a style and it would last? Do you remember when your hair was so nice and shiny and had body to it and it would look oh so lovely?

I have bought everything under the sun, moon, and starts for trying to nurse my hair back to health. There are so many products for dry hair to buy. There are rinse out conditioners to leave in conditioners and all sorts of moisturizers to use. You will even go as far as having a hair cut to cut the dry ends off

Hair all over the body can change as well as the hair on your head in texture and quantity during menopause. The softer hair on your head begins to change in texture as you get older, and menopause causes further changes.

Here are some effects of dry hair with menopause:

  •  Loss of luster
  •  Individual hair shafts thin
  • Dryness as a result of hormone changes
  • Thinning of pubic hairs
  • Thinning of hair underarms (after menopause)
These are all red flags when you are experiencing the changes in your body with menopause. It is good to point these issues out to your doctor so that he/she can recommend you a dermatologist who can give you the solution as to how you can handle this issue.

I hope that you have found this information helpful if so leave a comment, question or suggestion below this post.

Menopause-What’s your worst experience with Night Sweats?

Every woman who has been or went through the “change of life” has had some terrible experiences with menopause and hot flashes. Each woman will have different affect with the various symptoms that come with menopause.
My first and bad experience I had with night sweats in the beginning was scary! It tripped me out! As I have told you in my story that I didn’t have a clue as to what I going through and what was going on with my body.

When I started really developing the menopause symptoms real bad the experience was no joke!
What happened to me with my Night Sweats?
I went to bed as I did normally. But of course it wasn’t real normal because I would have to prepare myself for bed. That is explained in great detail when you read my story. However, I kind of got use to waking up through the night and putting on clean dry clothes to sleep in. But this particular night I was awaken from being so cold; yes it was winter time but my room was warm. Needless to say I was so cold because everything I had on was soaking wet. I mean real WET! Then I discovered that not only the side of the bed I was sleeping on was WET but the whole entire bed was WET
It freaked me out! I couldn’t figure out why my bed was so wet and what happened. I had not only changed all of my clothes but I had to change my linen too. I was so scared to the point of crying and becoming very emotional about.

What did I do next?
I had an appointment to see my doctor. That was when I knew I had an high severity level of menopause and night sweats. WOW! Just hearing the doctor explain to me what was going on blew me away!  So he suggested that I get on a real good product.
I was on my mission to seek out a good product that was going to work to cut down the terrible night sweats.
My advice and suggestion to you concerning your night sweats would be to tell your doctor everything about what you deal with at night when you go to bed. Trust me from there he or she will be able to give your proper information and treatment.
I hope my story has helped you find a way to cope with your night sweats. If so I encourage you to leave a comment, question or suggestion below this post.

Menopause and Muscle Aches-My body hurts

There are many symptoms to menopause and some of them are common ones and some not so common. However, when it comes to muscle aches and menopause it can be a sign of your hormones being imbalanced.
When there is a decline in a woman’s body of estrogen while in menopause she goes through a lot of changes. The loss of estrogen can result in a number of symptoms.
Here is one. Back pain is a common complaint during menopause. It can be a sign of muscle weakness. Your muscles, tendons and bones estrogen receptors in  those areas can become weak. This is what will give you daily pain and cause you to be uncomfortable.
If you are not aware of some of the muscle pain related to menopause, you may want to think it was the way that you slept, or something that you picked up,  or something that you moved. However, those things can cause muscle aches and  pains but understanding and knowing that you are in menopausal “mode” (if you will) you will be better to relate it to loss of estrogen.
Your muscle and joint pain with menopause is an unexplained soreness. It is unrelated to trauma or exercise, but may be related to the immune system with the different hormone levels changing.

How do you elevate your muscle pain?

There are some ways to do it to make you feel more comfortable as your menopause lessens.
1.       Change your diet
2.       Get a body massage
3.       Drink plenty of water
4.       Implement yogurt in your diet (No other dairy products)
5.       Take herbs
6.       Take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (s) NSAIDs
There are many other ways to gain comfort from muscle aches and  pain with menopause. Address your problem to your medical provider and he/she will be able to give you the best solutions as to how you can be more comfortable with your muscle pain during menopause.

Post Menopause and Antibiotics-Do they mix?

This post is about being in the end stages of menopause. You may be given the wrong medication while dealing with another health issue.
The experience of having a bad reaction to the medication that was prescribed to me upon having an emergency tooth extraction (1) Motrin 500 mg (2) Penicillin 500 mg. Instructions was to take them every six hours. After four days of being on this medication the pain from the tooth extraction had lessen. Meanwhile, keep in mind that I am in my post menopause stages. (It is coming to an end)
I took notice that my stomach was hurting and paining real bad. I could not walk upright and I was curled up in the bed in a fetal position rocking. I was trying to calm the pain down. My mouth was dry, I was nauseated, weak, no strength, my vision was blurred, there was tightness in my chest, cramps and I had not had a bowel movement in days. Then I realized that I was losing weight. I mean I was sick!

To make a long story short I went back to a local hospital emergency room and the doctor told me that I suffered severe side effects from the antibiotics which were intestinal problems, dehydration, nausea, dizziness, and I might add vaginal infection. I was just messed up from the waist down! The doctor did not put me on any medication but he did put me on a strict diet. I only could eat white boiled rice, applesauce, apple juice, toast, drink plenty of water. This experience was very scary for me and exhausting!

There is much more to this post menopause experience then what I just gave. However, my best advice that I would give is that you inform your dentist that you are in menopausal stages and be very detailed with him. Also you will want to keep a note of what types of medications you can take and the one you can’t.
 My finale words:

Menopause brings so many different and odd problems that women can experience.

Menopause and Irritability-Learning to relax

Menopause comes with many irritating and frustrating symptoms. Some of the common symptoms are hot flashes, depression, weight gain, and sleep disruption. You may also encounter some personal issues which may trigger one or more menopausal symptoms. For example, coping with an issue with relationships, finances, illnesses, or other personal matters can cause otherwise mild menopausal symptoms to become stronger. Learning how to relax when you are irritable helps prevent your stress level from increasing and making menopausal symptoms worse.

"I just can't figure it out"

One way to relax is through control of your breathing. Become familiar with your breathing patterns.

Breathing exercises to help you relax during menopause and irritability:

  • Rhythmic breathing – Inhale and exhale slowly
  • Deep breathing - Fill your abdomen with air
  • Visualized breathing - Combine slow breathing with your imagination
  • Progressive muscle relaxation - Pay attention to relaxing your muscles and slowing your breathing
  • Relax to music - Combine your breathing exercises with your favorite music
  • Mental imagery relaxation -Focused relaxation helps to create harmony between your mind and body.

You can minimize negative thoughts and emotions despite your menopause and irritability by encouraging yourself with these positive affirmations:

  • I can let go of things I cannot control.
  • I am healthy, vital and strong.
  • There is nothing in the world I cannot handle.
  • All my needs are met.
  • I am completely and utterly safe.
  • Every day in every way I am getting stronger.
